Jebel Hefeet

A friend came over from Abu Dhabi to visit, so we headed up Jebel Hefeet.  This is the second tallest mountain in UAE, but the most well-known since it has a great drive to the very top.  ("Jebel" means mountain.)

The road up was gorgeous.  We headed up late in the afternoon so we could catch the sunset.

Stopped partway up to take this picture.  The engine was already struggling.

How would you like to crash through this fence and end up all the way back at the bottom?!!

This is an Alpine Slide ride that goes out over the edge of the mountain.  I did NOT ride this!

WOW!

At the top you could get food/drinks.  There were some children's rides that played songs like "Home on the Range" and "Camptown Races."  How funny!!  Doo-dah, Doo-dah!

Almost surreal looking.  Actually reminds me of some scenes from Arizona.
